Just beat it. If you've ever played Civ, you should get it. It's a bit simplified for console purposes, but it's pretty fun nonetheless.

Just a bit, so it plays more easily with a controller. I haven't played the PC version since III, but it's definitely simpler. But not at all dumbed down.
